SULLANA
hey what's up everyone!! im gonna give a quick update of what's going on!
so last week we had our transfer call and I found out I was gonna be leaving to come over to the city Sullana. I was pretty excited cause I've been in Piura pretty much my entire time in Perú lol. on Monday we were able to help bishops son get baptized too which was good and we sung at the baptism and gosh it sounded horrible. I tried to hit a high note during the song and it didn't work at all.
then, Wednesday was our last day in the area and we had 2 baptisms for our boys Gabriel and Lian. we spent all morning packing, in a meeting, and buying treats for the zone. then we went to fill the font and once it filled about 9 inches, the water stopped and we ran out. then we went knocking doors all along the street asking people if we could use their hose to full up the font. we found a guy and we spent an hour and a half filling up a garbage can all the way down the road, sprinting it into the font, and restarting. we only got it like a little over a foot deep and we called it good and just baptized them while they were sitting down and layed them back. also the only people in the baptism were us, Bishop, and like 20 random kids we found in the street. everything about the baptism was ideal. then we spent the night saying goodbye to all our friends which is THE WORST. gosh I got so close to so many of them and it was horrible.
the 5 days I've had in the area we've only had time for 2 lessons cause we've been super busy moving elders in and out of apartments and stuff. the 2 lessons we've had though have been great and we put both of them on date!! one of them is a guy we found on saturday named Aarón and he's 20 and he rode his bike like 5 miles uphill to church and he LOVED it!
at lunch on Sunday, we were sitting there at a members house eating on a huge glass table. the guy to the left of me is an elder who literally had been in Perú for about 14 hours. he doesn't have a clue what's going on. he was leaning on the table with his elbows and I could feel the table bending. I literally thought to myself "dang, imagine this thing breaks." and that thing broke. shattered. all over me and him. the plates and cups fell and shattered. the food fell all over this brand new Elder as he has half of a glass table sitting in his lap. it was incredible.
