MANUEL: BAPTIZED, AND EXCOMMUNICATED 9 HOURS LATER

hey what's up! this week was sooo crazy. I've got a CRAZYYY and long story that I'm gonna share at the end.


this week we had a full day multizona conference which was fun. I got to see some of my boys there and I got to throw cake at some of them. we also had a full day leadership meeting another day, so that took up two days this week.


sooo basically we've been working a lot with two friends, Ana and Manuel. Ana is 9 and she's basically homeless, she lives in a little shack made from trash but she's the funniest and sweetest girl ever. she comes to church all by herself every week and she loves it.


and Manuel is one of the most insane people I've ever met. like actually insane like he's a psychopath, but he's hilarious. he's 65 and everytime I see him, we both square up and start fake fist fighting until I pin him to the floor and he taps out. he loves it. we've fought probably 10 times. everytime someone finds out that we're teaching him they say, "you're teaching Manuel?!?!?!? he's crazy!!!" and we just thought he was a funny guy and kinda weird, cause he is. but it kinda went down this week.


so we baptized Manuel and Ana this week on Saturday which was super cool! Manuel was SOOO excited to be baptized and be clean of his sins and follow Christ. they both asked me to baptize them which was great! they got confirmed on Sunday and all was well... until Sunday night.


we were in a lesson with these kids we're teaching that live close to Manuel and we were teaching them in the street and Manuel pulls up and starts SCREAMING at these kids and was saying like, "I HATE YOU KIDS! YOURE THIEFS AND IM GONNA KILL YOU ALL AND I WISH YOU WERE ALL DEAD!!" I'm just sitting there and I'm like what the frick just happened. I went to calm Manuel down and then dude punched the 15 year old kid in the back and I was like WHAT THE FRICK!! then they both square up and starts throwin punches at each other and then I stepped in and yelled at Manuel and told him to go home. I WAS SHOOK. he left and then came back 5 minutes later SCREAMING again and then punches the 14 year old girl in the face!! then she starts swinging at him. I'm literally just standing off to the side just pooping my pants. I was so confused. I didn't know what the frick to do. I let it go on for a little bit cause I was cheering for the girl and she was low key getting some good hits on him and she was winning. then I stepped in again and yelled at him and said, "Manuel don't you EVER hit these kids again what's wrong with you." and he started giving excuses, and every couple minutes he'd bow down to me and say, "I love and respect you Elder." gosh it was weird. and I said "Manuel you DO NOT hit kids and don't EVER hit a girl again that's horrible!!" and he was saying they're demons and they should go to hell and they shouldn't be allowed in church. and I said, "Manuel they're allowed in church just as much as you." Then he started yelling again, and i cut him off and said, "they're allowed at church just as much as you, we shouldn't have baptized you, you're not a good representative of the church of Jesus Christ." and he walked off yelling, "I HATE YOUR CHURCH!!" I swear I didn't make that up. it was the craziest thing ever. the kids told me that he hits them all the time and we had no idea. soooo ya.


then an hour later, we're walking down a different road and I look up and see a man with a metal pole in his hand and he was chasing down 4 grown men swinging the pole at them. of course it was Manuel. he looked up and saw us and came over and started talking to us as if NOTHING had happened. I said, "Manuel, what you did an hour ago was HORRIBLE!!" and he acted like he didn't remember it and then he started giving excuses about why it was deserved and I said, "when you were baptized, you promised to be like Jesus, and then you did that 9 hours after you were confirmed. you shouldn't EVER EVER hit a kid." he gave excuses and I kept yelling at him and then he said that next time he sees those kids he's gonna kill them. then he stormed off. sooo we called bishop and told him about it and that Manuel probably should get excommunicated and not be allowed at church. so we're currently in the process of doing that. no more wrestling Manuel I guess:(


other than that, this week was good!! we got 2 baptisms and we have a lot of potential here! I love you all <3

Merry Christmas

Hey everyone merry Christmas! I hope you all had a good Christmas! This week was pretty good we had a lot of stuff happen! So last Wednesday we had out huge mission Christmas party which was lit. We met up with the whole mission and the party didn't end a little after midnight and we still had to get on our bus and get home, so we didn't get to bed til about 2. Then the next morning we got up at 5:30 to get on the bus again and go to Piura again for our Multi zone conference in Piura. Then we came back home on the bus again late that night. Super exhausting but super fun! We've been able to find a good amount of people this week and we've seen a lot of success! It's been super fun lately in our area and me and my comp have so much fun together. On Saturday, we were in the area Mi Perú which is the poorest area in the whole city and the poorest place I've seen in my whole mission. DENGUE AGAIN

Hey how's its going! these last few weeks have been pretty good! A couple weeks ago we had a baptism for Kathryn and it went super good! It had to be like my firstbaotism ever where we didn't have a ton of problems, cause it went well! I got to baptize her and she couldn't stop smiling when she came out of the water!! Also ya a couple weeks ago, we visited a member who lives in such a sick house right along the river and jungle area. It was night time and the mosquitos were having a BLAST on me. The hermano looked at me and said, "oh don't worry, there's no mosquitos over here." And I wanted to say, hermano I litetally just had 2 of them fly into my ears and I've been smacking my body like SpongeBob and Patrick in that one scene in the SpongeBob movie for the past 20 minutes. The next morning I counted 42 bites on my right ankle, and 26 on my left ankle. I told my comp the next day, "ain't no way I don't get dengue from this." That ni...
