Merry Christmas

Hey everyone merry Christmas! I hope you all had a good Christmas!

This week was pretty good we had a lot of stuff happen! So last Wednesday we had out huge mission Christmas party which was lit. We met up with the whole mission and the party didn't end a little after midnight and we still had to get on our bus and get home, so we didn't get to bed til about 2. Then the next morning we got up at 5:30 to get on the bus again and go to Piura again for our Multi zone conference in Piura. Then we came back home on the bus again late that night. Super exhausting but super fun!

We've been able to find a good amount of people this week and we've seen a lot of success! It's been super fun lately in our area and me and my comp have so much fun together. On Saturday, we were in the area Mi PerĂº which is the poorest area in the whole city and the poorest place I've seen in my whole mission. While we were there, we saw this house handing out cake, hot chocolate, and toys to everyone. They saw us and called us over and gave us some too. This family living in a 10x15 box sized house was giving out this stuff to a group of about 150 people. I couldn't believe it. They were literally so poor and they weren't even members, just good people. It showed me that you don't have to be a member of the church to follow Christ and serve others, you just have to know Christ. You can't serve him if you don't know him.

Also while we were in that area, we were looking around for these two referrals Liam and Kathi. We had literally looked everywhere. Then, while we were drinking out hot chocolate, an 8 year old kid taps my leg and he said hi. I said hi and asked what his named was and he said Liam. I said no way, what's your mom's name. He said Kathi, and pointed to his mom. Such a cool miracle. He had a lesson with them right there and it was great. The Lord literally puts people right in our path as long as we're looking for them.

Christmas was a lot of fun! Me and my comp made some french toast and went and watched Christmas movies at the church. It was cool having a second and last Christmas as a missionary. It was a lot better than the first lol. I love being able to serve others and make them happy. It's hard being away from home, but it's really so easy at the same time, cause I can't ever imagine myself not serving a mission. I'm away from my family for a little bit so that others can be with theirs forever. I love Christ. I really do. I'm not just saying that. I'm so grateful that he would come to this world in the humblest way possible, in the form of a baby, and give it all for me. I like to imagine that while he was suffering in the garden of Gethsemane, that at some point, he thought of me. And the thought of me, his brother, being saved, motivated him to endure through it. I think he did that with everyone of us. He thought of us all individually and each of us motivated him enough to do it.

I love you all and I'm grateful for you. I love it here and I'm so happy! Merry Christmas everyone<3
