LIFE IN A TRIO
What's up everyone! This week was good and on Tuesday we got a call from the AP's to go to the mission office in two hours cause I was getting another comp. We went there and picked up Elder Balvin and now he's with us in a trío! He was already in my district and his comp had to leave to go work in another place, so they decided to leave him with me! He's still in his training so now I'm training two elders and covering both of their areas as district leader. I was stressed at first about all of it, but it's a ton of fun!
This week was the 28th of July which is Peru's independence day. They had a party at the church from 8 AM until midnight and we pulled up for a few hours and played soccer with the ward. Ngl I was kinda dragging my team down cause soccer is not my sport, so I got bumped down into the kids league lol. I did not go easy on those 12 year olds and had the place bumpin when I scored a goal. Felt incredible.
Also the other day we were walking and a group of like 50 high school kids had just got out of school and walked past us. They saw I was white and a couple of them said hello and I said hello back. Then about 4 or 5 of them proceeded to scream every swear word in the English language at me lol. It's the only English they know so they were pretty hyped to be able to use it.
We had a baptism for our friend Johan this week too which went great! He's 11 and he absolutely loves the church and the lessons and was SOOO happy after his baptism! It was so cool to see how just 2 days before his baptism, he told us he didn't know if he was ready. I committed him to read 2 Nephi 31 and to pray, and he did, and afterwards he was so excited and ready for his baptism!! The Book of Mormon literally is a miracle worker!!
I still get amazed every time one of our friends reads and prays about the BOM, cause every single time, IT WORKS!! Like not joking, every time they read it and pray about it, they receive answers to their doubts and all of a sudden are a new person. I've seen it happen time after time without fail. The power of the BOM is absolutely undeniable. I can never doubt the miracles I've seen through the BOM. These kind of moments make me wanna be a missionary forever and there's nothing like it!! :)))
