Chapter 14 Of PMG Works?!?!
Hey everyone how's it going!! Wuick little good news, I got a fan this past week which was so great! I'm now able to sleep at night! Shoutout mom!
I'll start off with some really good things that have happened. So our friend Juan Carlos is literally an angel on earth. He's been on house arrest for a year and he can't leave the house and we don't know why(we think he might've killed someone lol) and he is amazing! He LOVES our lessons and he is reading the BOM like crazy AND I invited him to watch the Joseph Smith movie and he did!! He has been using the gospel library app a ton to watch the BOM videos and he LOVES the verse of the day that the app has. He told us, "every morning I get up, pray, read the verse of the day, and then I share the verse on my WhatsApp story and I've been answering a ton of questions my friends have had." Dude's unreal. He's literally a missionary.
Also a little tender moment we had was with our friend Mauricio. I baptized him about a month ago and he goes out with us everyday for lessons and he's preparing for a mission!! We watched the Joseph Smith movie with him and at the part where Joseph finds out that his brother Hyrum will still go to heaven without being baptized, Mauricio looked at me and he said, "wait what'd he say??" And I explained it and he got teary eyed a little bit. Later on he shared with us that his sister passed away a few years ago without hearing our message and being baptized and he thought she would be going to hell, but learned in the movie rhat she still could go to heaven. It was such a cool moment to see how that truth literally made him SOO HAPPY!
So also this week we were with Mauricio and I told him he needs to give us more referrals so we can teach his friends. He said ok and pulled out his phone and took a pic of me. I asked why he did that and he told me he was gonna put it on his social media stories and tell people that if they said up on their story, I would come over to their house and talk to them. Then he said, "I'll get so many girls that slide up on this, trust me." I told him that's probably not the right reason to start teaching someone. But the next day we had lessons with 7 new people who were all girls between the age of 17-19 lol. If it works it works. But then the other day one of the girls told Mauricio to ask me if I wanted to go to the movie theater with her lol. Probably need to explain a little more about what we do as missionaries.
We also have been having some big problems with our bishop. Like pretty bad. He talks bad about us to members and lies to us and us very rude to us and we have no idea why. This week I bought him a huge cake and a 3 liter of soda and gave it to him and just basically said that I know he's lying to us and that he's talking bad about us to members and he needs to stop. Hopefully it gets better cause it's not great when your own bishop isn't even on your side lol.
I had some more crazy stomach problems and there have been some days this week I just wasn't able to go out. I was supposed to go to the emergency room again but ended up not going. Not really sure what's going on but I have some stuff that should help me. Satan's trying real hard to stop this work fr.
I want to share the power of testimonies with you guys. The other day I was able to call my mom on her bday (happy bday mom) and she was at the family reunion with all of my fam. I was able to share a little devotional with all my family there and they asked me to share my testimony in Spanish. I shared it and got a little teary eyed but didn't think too much of it. I ended the call and looked at my comp who had tears going down his face. He was the only one who actually understood what I said lol. He looked at me and just said, "that was a really good testimony, I'm gonna remember that for the rest of my life." It showed me the power we really have in our testimonies. When we share something we truly believe in, the holy ghost is undeniable!
