SOO MANY MIRACLES
Yo this week was so blessed. I feel like I was spoiled this week from the miracles we saw. I'm gonna share three big ones we saw.
1. So we've been working with this 10 year old named Diego for like a month and a half, having lessons every other day with only him. The kid acts like he's 30 and understands the Bible and book of Mormon and our lessons and is so smart. At his age you'd catch me playing Lego star wars, just dance 2, or trying to dig a hole in the ground all the way to China. But this kid is talking to missionaries on his own. His mom hasn't let him get baptized for weeks and hated us and he even pretended to be his mom a few times and gave us fake permission to baptize him lol. Anyways, SHE LET US BALTIZE HIM!! He shared his testimony with her and changed her heart! I was able to baptize him too which was awesome!
2. Mauricio is someone we've been working with for a while and we've tried to baptize but he's told us he has doubts about stuff. I told him to read 3 Nephi 11 and pray about it and promised his doubts would leave. He did it and just straight up said, "I don't doubt it anymore, this is the church of christ, I want to be baptized." YOOOOO SO COOL!! Then he shared all his favorite verses from the chapter. I almost cried cause it was one of those testimony confirmers where you don't just know these things are true, but you know that you know. If that makes sense lol. He'll be baptized tomorrow!!
3. We got a reference from someone of an inactive family who has an unbaptized 8 year old daughter. We went over, they let us in, sat us down, and said, "baptize our daughter." I said, "ok." So we've been teaching her and she'll be baptized soon! It seems too good to be true. But it's true. I'm so blessed.
My trainee has cried to me a few times this week about how much he misses his fam and it's been so sad. I didn't know what to say. I think I said the wrong thing cause I basically told him, "ya not gonna lie, it doesn't go away, you're gonna miss them for two years." I panicked when I said it. But don't worry I said the right thing after that and helped him, he opened his arms, we hugged, he looked me in the eyes and said, "you're the best father I could ever have." (In the mission, you call your trainer your father lol.) Then he gave me his least favorite tie. It was a bonding moment. A little father to son heart-to-heart.
Spiritual thought: It's been so cool to see the way God looks out for us in our trials. This week I got hit with some bad news from back home and was struggling a lot. I had no desire to work but then was given miracle after miracle and was able to work sooo hard all week! It reminded me of the stripping warriors. They, "ALL received many wounds." But they ALL survived. We our blessed in our trials and looked after. God knows our limits and our potential. He knows when and how to bless us. He gives us comfort on the stormy sea. I saw a quote I really liked that said, "christ shapes our backs to be able to bear our burdens." He shapes and forms us in a way that we'll be able to carry the load. So powerful.
