ON MY DEATH BED
What's up everyone!! This week was wild and I've got a pretty crazy story to share with you all!! I'm gonna try my hardest to not make the story suuuper long but also tell all the good details.
So Saturday during lunch, I got hit by a train with a super bad fever, body aches, head and eye pain, and I got super dizzy and weak. I got scared cause I know that these are all the symptoms of a super common disease here called dengue which is caused by mosquitos and its really really dangerous. I checked my temp and it was 103 and we told the mission Presidents wife and she told us to rush over to the emergency room to test for dengue. We got there around 5:30 and I was sooo sick and we sat in the waiting room for SIX HOURS!!! I was so sick and dizzy and light headed, I kept blacking out and passing out in the waiting room. They also rolled out a dead guy who had died from dengue which freaked me out. Finally at 11:30 they took me back and a guy stuck a needle in my arm to give me an IV and I think it was his first day cause the dude was literally just stabbing it through my arm and then he kept moving it and then he had it literally completely horizontal while it was in my arm!! I was screaming. When a lady took the needle out I swear it was bent at a 45⁰ angle. That's not a joke. They told me I had dengue and gave me medicine. Yesterday was the most sick I've ever been. I had a 104⁰ temp and didn't leave my bed all day. I haven't eaten at all the past two days either. Last night the mission Presidents wife told my comp, "when you get up in the morning, shake elder Bradshaw to make sure he's alive." That scared me so bad. For the first time ever I prayed and asked heavenly father just that I would wake up in the morning. And I did!! I have to go back to the emergency room tomorrow and I was told this will last about a week. :(((
Alright anyways, funny story, I was teaching my English connect class on Friday and I was teaching how to say the "th" sound which is super hard for soanish speakers. This grandma was really struggling in particular and I went up to her and said, "you need to put your tongue under your front teeth and blow air out." She goes, "ya I can't do that." I said, "why?" She then opened her mouth and she was missing her front six teeth. It was the funniest thing ever. Also some girl screamed the f word in english and I said "ya you should probably never say that again." She didn't know it was bad she just thought it was a funny word.
We've got some super great people we're teaching right now who are really progressing!! The family of Mauricio, Sara, Melissa, Danica, and Micaela is like my favorite fam of all time. Micaela and I are literally best friends she's 2 and she's literally the cutest. We were at their house having a lesson and her mom took micaela to take a bath and like 5 minutes later I hear micaela yelling, "I took a bath Bradshaw!! I took a bath Bradshaw!!" SO adorable. Also Diego is 11 and wants to be baptized like crazy but his mom won't let him and she hates us:(
Spiritual thought: I listened to a talk by President Nelson the other day and he asks the questions "what role does the book of Mormon have in your life?" "What would you life be like without the book of Mormon?" And "if you were given the choice between diamonds and rubies or the book of Mormon, which would you choose?" It got me really thinking about my testimony of the book or Mormon and how important it is. Without the book of Mormon there's so many things that we wouldn't know. I love thinking about my testimony and writing it down because I feel the spirit so strong and I realize how strong my testimony really is. I want you all to reflect on the importance of the Book of Mormon and read it DAILY!!
