JOSE GOT BAPTIZED

What's up guys I had such a fire week!!! So much happened this week and we had so much progress with some of our friends it was so awesome! There's so much exciting stuff to come this next week and it's my first missionary birthday next week which I'm so excited for as well!!

Being a missionary is a lot of fun, but missionary humor is absolutely awful. If you want to be funny as a missionary, you say, "oof", "noice", "HOYAHHH", or "bruh moment." I've decided I'd rather not be funny than to say that. It's not something I'm used to to not be funny, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make because I will not come back from my mission saying those words.

OK I swear I'm not even lying, literally twenty minutes after I wrote last weeks email, we drove to Walmart and there was a homeless dude popping a squat literally right next to the entrance of the store. No one even looked twice and acted like it was normal which was the weirdest thing. And then after that, we went to the church and played basketball and there was a homeless guy outside on the entrance sleeping but we didn't say anything to him. When we went to leave though, he was gone and there were sour patch kids all over the front entrance and he had sucked off all of the sour powder and spit them back out. And then we noticed that he had left a dooky right by the door. I don't know why it keeps happening. The next day, we went to the church for studies and saw him sleeping there again and we had to call the bishop and the bishop came and grilled him and I felt pretty bad but he kinda deserved it after defiling the church building.

We put a family of three, Gabby, Kalani, and Kaylen on date for baptism as well!! They are sooo cool and the mom wasn't interested at first, but when she came to church, she told us how strong the spirit was and how peaceful it was and she said she wants to go every week. SO AWESOME! They're such an amazing family and so elect and I'm so exited for them!

We also found this new family to start teaching and I was talking to them in Spanish and they asked if we could come back and share another message and they would make us food and we said of course. She said to come back Lunes, which means Monday in Spanish, but I'm an idiot and I don't know Spanish so I thought Lunes was Tuesday so we came Tuesday and she was like, "no I said to come back yesterday, Tuesday, and we were waiting for you guys with our food ready all night and you never showed up." I felt like an idiot and I felt so bad. It's ok though cause we came back another time and shared a message and turns out they're just bashers and they were trying to prove us wrong the whole time.

We put another one of our friends on date, Sulma, and she's SOO SICK!! She loved the lesson and she's so ready to be baptized and she is the best! And the big news... JOSE LOPEZ GOT BAPTIZED!! It was such a sick baptism and he was so ready and Sulma came to the baptism as well! On our way to the baptism my companion told me that I was giving a teach the restoration by myself to everyone in Spanish. I literally was dripping sweat, knees weak arms were heavy. It was so scary and I felt so dumb, but I did it. And it wasn't even the scariest moment. I gave José the holy ghost in sacrament meeting and that was probably the most nervous moment of my life. Literally imagine that you have to give a man the holy ghost and give him a full blessing AND it's in sacrament meeting in front of the whole ward AND it's in a language you don't even speak. I was so happy to do it but it as brutal. It was somehow good enough to make my companion cry but I thought it was awful.

I really love it here but Spanish is a struggle for sure. I just rambled go my companion yesterday about how big of an idiot and a nobody I feel like I am here. It's so brutal I just want to be able to understand what people are saying to me. It's a grind and I wanna progress sooo bad. I love you all so much!! Have a fire week a d read your Book of Mormon.

Also shout out Grandma Bradshaw. She found a picture that I drew awhile ago of me and Jesus holding hands and sent it to me and it was such a great reminder. I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty sure I drew it like junior year, but it's still a good reminder haha. It's important to know that Jesus is holding my hand and he's in this with me and with all of us. Jesus loves you so much and so do I!! He's cheering you on and he's your biggest fan!
