I'M GOING TO THE HOOD!!!

What's up guys this week has been nuts!!! So first off TROY GOT BAPTIZED!!!!!! It was so cool to be the one to baptize him and he gets the Priesthood this week too and it was so awesome!! And there are like four other people we're teaching here rn who will be baptized in the next month or two which is so lit!!

We had a FIRE lesson with this couple named George and Princess and they're a super good looking young couple with two super cute kids and they loved the lesson!! We taught the plan of Salvation and they said that it literally clicked in their heads and it makes sense!!! They're literally some of my favorite people ever! John is also THRIVING and we have lessons with him almost everyday and he comes to church every week and he LOVES OUR CHURCH!! We're gonna put him on date for baptism this week and we know he's so ready!! Also this little girl in our ward who's 11 hasn't been baptized and she wants to be so she asked if we'd baptize her so we're baptizing her in a few weeks!! So much stuff is going on, it's so exciting! I love all the people I've met here so so much I'm gonna miss them like crazy because I'm getting transferred!!
So I'm going to the heart of Maryvale, and for those of you who know of Maryvale, know that it's literally the most ghetto place ever. The road I live on apparently has a murder happen every week and it's super sketchy, but I'm super excited! I've wanted to go to Maryvale sooo bad and this answered my prayers because there's a ton of Spanish speakers there so I'll learn a ton of Spanish and grow a ton! I couldn't be more excited!! I'm packing my stuff right now and I go tomorrow!

I got a pretty funny story of something that happened the other day. So I'm at dinner with this older couple in the ward who are about 75 and in the middle of dinner I look over at the man and the dude looked like his head was about to explode. He was staring at the wall and his eye was twitching, his veins were literally popping out of his forehead and neck, and he was sooo red. I was so confused and then he stands up super quick and says, "I'm sorry, I have to excuse myself for a minute." He's super old so he moves really slow so he proceeds to slowly shuffle his way around the table, and when he was literally right behind me, on his way out, he literally just exploded in his pants. And he just kept slowly shuffling and every step he took, a little fart came out every step he took for literally 15 straight steps. I'm the worst person in those scenarios and I had to maintain a conversation with his wife while fighting demons to hold in my laugh. A couple minutes later in the bathroom, I hear literally an ear deafening explosion. He came back out and we went and got cake and his wife was getting me cake and him and I are having a conversation with each other and he just literally let's one rip. While we're holding eye contact, probably like two feet from each other. He kept eye contact and acted like it didn't happen and I was just shook he let it rip while we're mid conversation and having eye contact. Literally top 5 funniest moments in human history.

Yesterday was freaking FREEZING and we were outside on bike and I wanted to die. My comp decided we'd be outside doing studies and knocking doors all day and it was like 35 degrees and I am not used to the cold so I was holding back tears. At dinnertime we were literally so cold and hyped to go inside to eat at a restaurant and warm up and the only restaurant nearby was Sonic and you can't even go inside of Sonic, so we had to go and eat outside and it literally couldn't have been worse. But it was a super successful day.

Spiritual thought: During Troy's baptism, the song I Am a Child of God came on and I felt the spirit so strong. The lyrics "lead me, guide me, walk beside me, help me find the way" really hit me. We need to let Jesus lead and guide us and he is with us every step of the way and we just need to recognize him in our lives! A super simple message, but it's so important!
