BIKE CRASH AGAIN!!!
Hey guys how's it goin!! The other day I was riding my bike and I was movin quick and I accidentally passed the turn so I slammed brakes and it was my front brakes and my bike stopped and the momentum took it forward and I took flight for a second. I did a complete front flip off the bike and rammed my knee cap into the handle bar sooo hard and it hurt like freaking crazy. I literally almost stuck the landing after the full front flip but I slipped and back flopped on the road. I admitted defeat and layed on the road for a solid fifteen seconds just holding back tears while laying on the loose gravel which was piercing my back. I wanted to cuss in the moment but fought back the demons and made it through. For the next few days, when we prayed, I could only kneel on my left knee cap cause my right one was so swollen it hurt like crazy.
I also had the coolest moment of my whole mission on Saturday. Me and my comp were about to go home and it was dark outside and I saw a kid playing basketball at a school all by himself. I had a really strong feeling to go play with him so I could a way to sneak around the gate and went over there. I went up to the kid and introduced myself and his name was Maddox and I said I wanted to 1v1 him and that if I win, I get to share a message about Jesus Christ, and he said, "bet". I slaughtered him in the 1v1 lol but in his defense he was 15 years old and just got cut from the school team lol so I let him catch up at the end and then ended it. He seemed so genuinely happy and touched to play basketball with me and thought I was just so amazing, because I am lol. But he was so happy for me being there and he said I made his day and he made my whole mission. I shared message with him and he loved it and I gave him a Book of Mormon which he said he'd read. He kept saying how happy he was that I played with him and I genuinely was trying not to cry. He seems so lonely and just that one moment made him so happy. I'm gonna teach him a lesson about God's love and hopefully make him not feel so lonely.
I got my guy Dwayne on date for baptism which was so sick!! We're so excited to see how he does and I hope he's ready by then! I met some amazing people this week and I'm so excited to see how they do! I had my first lesson with George and Princess and it couldn't have been better. The lesson was The Restoration and we went an hour longer than we were supposed go cause they had so many questions which was so awesome. They're reading the Book of Mormon and we're gonna keep teaching them and it was so cool.
We also go to a bible study every week with a Christian group who let's the missionaries come and its a lot of fun to study with them and they don't read the King James version so it's really cool when they read because the verses have completely different meaning and they're super nice. We also met this guy names Jay Neyens who was so cool and he actually directed the movie Blade and he made another pie with Michael Jackson in it and he just finished writing a book. He was such a cool guy and his story was incredible.
We also met thus guy names Ean and it was a miracle how we found him! Me and my comp were doing comp study at the park under the pavilion and this dude named Ean came and sat at the table across from me and I saw that he had a Raiders shirt on so I struck up a conversation with him about Raiders and football. I brought up the church and what the missionaries do. We gave him a Book of Mormon and asked him to read and he said, "of course I will, and you know why?" So I asked why and he said, "I walk past this park everyday and I've never ever taken the path that leads to this pavilion, I've always taken the other path that goes around the park, but today, I had a feeling to take this path and come to the pavilion and it led me to meeting you guys. God wanted me to take thus path so I'd meet you and you could give me this book, so of course I'll read it." IT WAS SO COOL!! He recognized the miracle and it was such a cool experience.
It's amazing the miracles that I notice now that I have taught myself to seek and expect them in my life. I see God's hand in my life now more than ever. He blesses us more than we know. I know that I have God's hand and help in my life, and it all of our lives, but it doesn't mean we still won't have trials. In 2 Nephi 2 it talks about how there's opposition in all things. Everything in out life will have trials and bumps in the road, but it also states that our sorrow can not exceed our joy. The more sorrow we feel in our life, means we'll have an exceeding amount of joy down the road. I love this message and I love the Book of Mormon so much.
I love and miss you guys so much, I love to hear from you guys so feel free to reach out, haply early Thanksgiving!!!
