Acorns Are Actually Poisonous
I've been here at the Provo MTC for just over a week!! We've basically just done Spanish class all day everyday and my head feels like it's gonna explode. In our Spanish classes, our teachers speak only Spanish and don't speak any English during class so I'm just sitting there for three hours straight each class doubting everything lol. They talk so fast and only in Spanish so I don't have a clue what they're saying so I just sit there and nod my head like I understand. It is really cool because you can see progress with the language everyday and it's really cool to see me and my district getting better and better at Spanish every day.
My district is really cool and the three other guys that I room with are so fun. Everyone in the building is always in our room cause we always have somethin going on in our room so our room is always packed full of people we don't know and it's always lit. It does kinda suck though cause our room smells like literal diarrhea 24/7. I have never met people who fart so much in my life and when other people come in our room too, I swear they only come into our room to fart and leave. The smell is indescribable and brings tears to the eyes at times but I wouldn't want it any other way. I also decided to shave my legs for the first time in my life the other day just for fun. I didn't know it would take almost 2 hours to do so and it was absolutely awful. There were multiple times where I would look down and see blood pouring down my leg and it was weird cause I didn't feel any cuts. I do not recommend. 0/10 experience.
The past few days, me and my roommates keep daring each other to eat acorns without throwing up. I ate the first one cause it just looked like a pecan and I know that squirrels eat them all the time so I assumed they wouldn't be bad, but I was wrong. It tasted like hand sanitizer and it was so strong my throat got real itchy after I ate it and then I was told that apparently they're kinda poisonous. We still dare each other to eat them all the time and my roommate threw up everywhere the other day while trying to eat one.
We had Elder Rasband here talking to us the other day and it was so cool! I got to sing in the choir and sing "I Stand All Amazed" for him and I had the whole MTC choir on my back. I hit every note and it was lit. He talked to us about the importance of missionary work and I learned so much!! My favorite thing he said was, "the more you get to know Christ, the more you love him, and the more you love him, the more you want to serve him." I loved it because it basically says that if you want to be a good missionary, get to know Christ and grow closer to him.
¡Me amo a Jesucristo y él me ha bendecido con tanto y yo sé que si tú también conoces a Cristo, también lo amarás a él! ¡Que Dios los bendiga!
